"Do you have something for me, bella mia?"

She turned to him with an amused and expectant smile. Hiding the small silk bag with her hand tucked behind her back, she shrugged.

"Pardon, messere, but I've already given it to another." Ezio barely made a move as they stood a moment at an impasse, neither buying the other's ploy. Finally Merona rolled her eyes with an amused sigh as she untied the big of ribbons and held it out for her male companion. He reached out for her contribution and found it suddenly retracted from his grasp.

"How hard are you willing to work for it?" She pursed her lips together with this question, the way she always did when she was trying to get something she wanted.

"There are a few things I could think of," came his reply as he took a step forward, her tucking the bag behind her back again as he made to reach for it with his left hand. His right came up to meet her chin as the night-lights came to play across the planes of her face. He noticed the way her smirk faded into something much more serene and her lids fluttered down to his lips. He took this invitation to lean down as she met him in a claiming of each other. They stood amidst the glorious chaos that was the Venetian Carnevale for this moment, savoring the presence of one another.

Keeping her within his grasp, Ezio again reached out for the bag, her relenting in the surrender of his token as she easliy dropped it into his palm. She released his lips as she ran her toungue across her teeth, an expression of gentle deliberation playing across her face.

"Will that suffice?" He asked running his thumb along her jaw. The younger jerked herself from his touch with a charming scoff as she pushed his hand away, stirring a snicker from the elder.

"No, it will not." Came her reply. Ezio simply dangled the bag in front of her to counter this arguement.

"Pity," She claimed. A devilish grin displayed itself across his face as he turned from her to continue his trials. Even if he should lose this event, something said he'd won the game.

"Ezio?" He stopped and returned his attention to her as she inquired of him.

"There is still no reward." Her reminder sparked a small laugh from the assassin, as he stood across the courtyard. It'd been a few years since he'd promised to lay claim to his "reward" for having saved her life before. Apparently, it was a promise she hadn't forgotten.

"I know, Bella mia," he replied. "I know."
